Coloured map of Somersetshire from Volume IV, containing the English county maps, of Blaeu’s landmark atlas of the world “Atlas Novus”, first published in 1645. The map contains the usual Blaeu decorations; including coats of arms of the noble families of the county and scenes of local life. A description of the county appears verso in French. The map has some minor marginal defects not affecting the image; otherwise a finely coloured example with wide margins in very good condition. 38.5 cm x 50 cm
