Coloured map of Buckinghamshire by John Seller, which was engraved ca 1680 and was to be included in his abandoned folio atlas of British county maps “Atlas Anglicanus”. This plate, along with five others, was sold to Philip Lea, who amended it and included it in his 1693 reissue of Christopher Saxton’s county atlas of England and Wales. The map is decorated with country scenes containing residents, wild-life and agricultural produce of Bucks. The map also includes a listing of borough towns, showing for each the market days and the members of Parliament chosen. Blank verso. Other than a professionally repaired short tear to the left side of the map, a finely coloured example in very good condition. 36.5 cm x 48.5 cm
