Uncoloured view of Jerusalem from Olfert Dapper’s book about his travels in the Middle East entitled “Naukeurige beschryving van gantsch Syrie en Palestyn of Heilige Lant” (translated as “Accurate descriptions of entire Syria and Palestine or the Holy Land”) published by Jacob van Meurs in 1677. The map, which is based on the work of Wenceslas Hollar, shows a panorama of ancient Jerusalem as viewed from the east. The map contains a key to 52 important buildings and locations in both Latin and Dutch. Blank verso. A strong dark impression, it is a lovely example of this striking panorama in excellent condition. 28.5 cm x 70 cm
