Twin coloured prospects of Oxford from David Loggan’s “Oxonia Illustrata”, first published in 1675 and containing bird’s eye view engravings of all of the colleges of the University together with the prospects and a map of the city. The prospect at the top is a view of Oxford from the east near the London Road while the one at the bottom is from the south near Abingdon Road. Each prospect contains a key, one in Latin and a corresponding one in English, identifying the important buildings shown in the image. A finely coloured example of these uncommon views of Oxford; it is a lovely, dark impression with wide margins in excellent condition. 32 cm x 44.5 cm
