Coloured map of Oxfordshire from Volume IV, containing the English county maps, of Blaeu’s landmark atlas of the world “Atlas Novus”, first published in 1645. One of the most sought after of Blaeu’s county maps, it is strikingly decorated with the coats of arms of the colleges of Oxford University. A description of the county appears verso in Latin. Other than some minor marginal spotting well away from the image, a finely coloured, superb example in excellent condition. 38 cm x 50.5 cm
