Coloured strip map of the coaching route from Monmouth to Llanbeder taken from a ca 1698 edition of Ogilby’s opus entitled “Britannia”, first published in 1675. The 68 mile route starts from Monmouth and proceeds on a generally western route through the towns of Abergeveny, Crecowel, Brecknoch, Redbrue, Llanimdofry and Llanbeder. The map has a cartouche decorated with the royal coat of arms, long-horned goats and cherubs as well as showing the main towns on the route and the distances between them. Blank verso. Other than some marginal imperfections including repairs to the right margin; a nicely coloured example of this map in good condition. 32.5 cm x 43 cm
