Finely coloured strip map of the coaching route from Stilton to Boston as well as the route from Boston to Lincoln taken from a ca 1698 edition of Ogilby’s opus entitled “Britannia”, the first national road atlas of any country in Western Europe and first published in 1675. The map has a decorative cartouche illustrating an idyllic country based scene and containing a description of the two routes that indicates the main towns on the routes and the distances between them. Blank verso. Other than a few short tears to the margins and evidence of adhesive in the right margin from a prior framing, neither affecting the image, a well coloured example in very good condition. 33 cm x 43.5 cm
