Coloured map of Hertfordshire from Volume IV, containing the English county maps, of Blaeu’s landmark atlas of the world “Atlas Novus”, first published in 1645. The map contains the usual Blaeu decorations; including the royal coat of arms together with those of the noble families of the county and scenes of local life. A description of the county appears verso in Dutch. The map has some professional repairs to areas of weakness and tears in the top margin not affecting the image; otherwise in very good condition. 38.5 cm x 50.5 cm
