An old coloured county map of Devon from Volume IV, containing the English county maps, of Blaeu’s landmark atlas of the world “Atlas Maior”, first published in 1645. The map contains the usual Blaeu decorations; including the royal coat of arms, several coats of arms of the noble families of the county and a title cartouche surrounded by a putto, two men in period dress and some of the local fauna. A description of the county appears verso in Spanish. Other than some water staining to the extreme bottom corners of the wide margins, a finely old coloured, strong dark impression on heavy paper in excellent condition. 38.5 cm x 50 cm
