Coloured map of South Wales from Gibson’s revised edition of Camden’s Britannia. First published in 1695, the same set of maps also appears in the subsequent four editions of Britannia, the last of which was published in 1772. The map, which includes the counties of Pembrokeshire, Glamorganshire, Carmarthenshire, Cardiganshire, Brecknockshire, and Radnorshire, shows the network of roads within the region and the usual decorative cartouche characteristic of Morden’s maps. Blank verso. The map has few spots on the image in area of St. Georges Channel, otherwise a very good, nicely coloured example. 35.5 cm x 42.5 cm
