Coloured map of the West Riding of Yorkshire from the rare Spanish edition of Blaeu’s atlas of the world “Atlas Mayor”, Volume V containing the English county maps, first published in 1659. The map contains the usual Blaeu decorations; including the royal coat of arms together with those of the noble families of the county and scenes of local life. A description of the county appears verso in Spanish. The map is age toned, has an area of verdigris strengthened verso and minor marginal defects; otherwise a gold-heightened, finely coloured, strong dark impression in very good condition. 38 cm x 49 cm
