Coloured map of Monmouthshire from a George Humble edition of John Speed’s “Theatre of the Empire of Great Britain”. A very decorative map of the county, it contains a plan of the town of Monmouth along with a key showing places of note. The map is further decorated with four strap-work cartouches containing the royal coat of arms and the map title, a portrait of King Henry V and the Prince of Wales feathers. A description of the county appears on the verso in English. The map is a finely coloured, strong dark impression in excellent condition. 38 cm x 51 cm
