Two coloured maps of Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire from Volume IV, containing the English county maps, of Blaeu’s landmark atlas of the world “Atlas Novus”, first published in 1645. The map contains the usual Blaeu decorations; including the royal coat of arms together with those of the noble families of the county and scenes of local life. A description of the counties appears verso in Latin. The map has a professional repair to a tear in the bottom margin going 1.5cm into the image; otherwise, a finely coloured, strong dark impression in very good condition. Each map 42 cm x 24 cm
