Old wash coloured map of London at the beginning of the 18th century by the German cartographer, Johann Baptist Homann. The top part of the map, which contains inset views of Whitehall and the Royal Exchange, extends from Islington in the north to Lambeth in the south and from Hyde Park in the west to Limehouse in the east. The bottom part of the map is a prospect of London as viewed over the Thames from the south bank, clearly showing London Bridge and St Pauls, with a key identifying 63 places of note. Blank verso. As is often the case with this map, the margins are trimmed to the decorative border without loss; otherwise in very good condition. 49 cm x 58 cm
