Coloured first state strip map (without number at bottom) of the coaching route from Banbury to Bridgnorth as well as the route from Banbury to Chipping Campden taken from Ogilby’s opus entitled “Britannia”, the first national road atlas of any country in Western Europe and first published in 1675. The map has a decorative cartouche illustrating a country based fox hunting scene and containing a description of the two routes that indicates the main towns on each route and the distances between them. Blank verso. Other than some minor marginal imperfections not affecting the image, the map is a finely coloured, sharp dark impression on heavy paper with wide margins and is in very good condition. 34 cm x 44.5 cm
